chipped grills still a problem?

i remember 2 years ago, people had badly chipped grilles.

that thing felt so cheap. it was like chrome plated plastic.

has this been fixed? or is the quality still crap?

Mine is an 08 and it's chipped. I doubt they have made any changes. I have heard the midnight black one seems to hold up better.

Just paint over the ugly chrome grill. The chrome plating on our grill is very weak and chips /pits very easily.

I painted my grill w/ multiple coats of primer and paint, and couldnt be happier!!!

Painted grill FTW.

do you guys have ppf film over your grille, or is it naked?

or is ppf useless?

talk about penny pinching cost cutting. after 2 years, and they couldn't make a metal grille.....

terry, thats cr@ppy, my dealer replaced mine under warrantee, np, and I brought it up once, forgot about it, and they replaced it when checking my passenger seat ABS sensor like 6 months later.

They even gave me the old one which I painted, and I got the replacement in a box for a rainy day or that I'll put back on prior to selling....

'08 sedan grill with chips and pits in it. Such a cheap grill for such a nice car. It sucks!

My 07 had trillion chips on the grill after 2k miles. They replaced it under warranty and was good after 20k miles more no issue.

My 08 had same problem replaced it at 3k miles. Had same problem 1k miles after. They gave me attitude at Guelph Infiniti. (don't take my car there anymore other than warranty work, don't get a penny from me for sure not even when I buy my next car. Maybe I go with another brand due to the "great" service they provide) So I left bought a midnight grill and 10k miles on the midnight grill with no issue I have maybe 2-3 tiny chip. Go figure.

BTW what makes it funnier the Mt Fuji still the original and have no chips on it at all.

Infiniti grill = chip plastic crap

Have an '07 G here in Brooklyn and go through nasty streets and construction sites daily. No chips on the grill and only a few on the hood. Having read the chipped grill threads here and elsewhere when I bought the car 2 years I ago, I was prepared for far worse.

I can say that my grill is a mess. I never thought of even bringing it in to be fixed as I thought I would have no chance. I will have to give it a shot now, maybe the new one will hold up a lot better as some of you seem to have.
