My 3 can be programmed through the steering wheel stock for the
selective door locking/unlocking, as well as for each key

 

I've been experiencing the same exact thing for about a year now. I've told the dealerships in my area a few times about it and no one can replacte it. Were they able to fix it? If so, what was the problem? Thanks

 

Just wanted to chime in again (and add to what I posted above) re: my experience in the G37X (since I’m STILL driving the loaner car). I took a trip to NY for Christmas weekend with my wife and 2 kids, just over a 3 hour drive total. Car was completely packed full (trunk almost didn’t close), stuff between my 2 kids cars eats & stuff on the floor in the back. I wanted to see how good of a mileage I could get with 100% highway driving and driving mellow, never letting the tach. needle jump. I used cruise control for a while, but not the whole trip. So when I began my trip, I reset the MPG trip computer once I was on the highway and am very pleased to say that I got 28.2 MPG ! I couldn’t believe it myself, considering I had gotten such crappy mileage prior and the fact that the EPA estimate for this car is 25 MPG. Perhaps this outcome may change my whole look on this car/engine now. This thing when babied gets about 1.5-2.0 MPG better on the highway than my ’04 RWD sedan!

 

And that is an X. AWD gets probably 1-1.5 mpg worse than the RWD. So with the g37 you probably could of hit 30mpg.

 

I had 25.6 on my 08 x once driving 8 hours, 100% highway.

 

Impressive mileage if accurate.

 

Love the auto lock. Wish my 08 had it.

 

What's the auto lock?

g37musings - It's as accurate at the computer is. Has anyone ever checked the computer vs. ACTUAL calc. by hand after filling up & doing the math?

I have and mine varies. Sometimes it is within .5 mpg and other times it is optimistic by 2 mpg, so it varies somewhat, at least on mine car.

But I am a freak, I keep all my mileage on all my cars on a spreadsheet online...........

Wow, no kidding, 2 mpg is a lot. Ha ha, when I was younger & first started driving, I used to put them in a spreadsheet too, and graph them. I don't really check any more on my '04 unless I'm up to see how high of a mileage I can get and baby the car for almost a full tank of gas. I have a friend who still to this day, keeps ALL of his receipts & does the math on the back w/ how many MPG's he gets, and he SAVES them! WHY!!!
