07 g35s

Hello all,

I am planning on buying a g35 after this coming winter. I want a 6 speed so from what I've seen the sport model is the way to go. Are there any major issues you have noticed with this model? I have read that the clutch doesn't hold up all that well, but that could me more of an issue with the driver than anything else. Right now I have an 05 altima with 120,000 miles on the orignal clutch. What else should I be looking out for? Any help is appreciated.

By the way, the car will be a daily driver, no tracking or anything like that, but I do tend to drive pretty hard.

Check that the slave cylinder issue has been addressed. Other than that, have at it.

Oh, and I hope you weren't expecting stellar gas mileage.

I've put 25,000 on mine, no problems thus far other than the usual recall fixes. Semi daily driver, I run her pretty hard and fast when I can- avg 22.3 mpg 60/40 highway/city mix. Really easy car for most DYI maintenance, oil change is a snap.

awesome guys, thanks.

Was the slave cylinder issue a recall that should have been done?

Yes, the slave cylinder is a standard TSB/Recall...whatever...it's done under warranty and they know about it.

Of course, I bought mine used and it hadn't had the issue addressed, so I found out what it was a week after buying the car. Minor inconvenience, but still a frightening one for week one.

Getting used to the stick is the biggest quirk of the car. High release point on the clutch leads to sometimes jerky driving.

The Stereo, Nav, etc... all work very well and much better than most. The Music Box is overrated, but still a nice feature. My biggest complaint is probably the cost of insurance and/or repair. neither are cheap.

I've read some about the release point on the clutch, it seems to be about the same as my altima, I'll see when I test drive one.

Thanks for the info. Its hard to get an idea of the little things that can get annoying with a car, forums like this make it easier.

Looks like the G is an all around great car, I couldn't be more impressed with Nissan's reliability after buying my altima brand new and driving it as much as I have.

Do yourselves a favor and perform both Clutch pedal fix #1 and #2 by Intgr8r in the DIY section. After doing both, driving the 6MT is pure joy!

Okay, I'm dumb...or just need more coffee this morning.

When I go to your link, it say there are 8 threads and only one page...Not trying to harp on this, but if I can figure out ways to improve the clutch, I'm all for it.
