Okay so I live in the northest and we get snow 3 months out of the year. I can't decide on which of these AWD vehicles to go with?

sounds kinda dumb, sorry for me saying, but it's really up to you whether you want a sedan or an suv.
you can't go wrong with either, the awd system technologies in both are pretty much the same, only diff is clearance, tires, and weight.

I've got my coupe for the dry and the FX for the fluffy stuff. I know I'm gonna get a beatin for this sooooo let me qualify this by sayin IN GENERAL, I think the FX is sessier than the Sedan (again...there are many examples of Sedan's which make me happy in the pants on here) but IN GENERAL...that's my feelin

I have a G35X 2007, I found over the course of the last 2 years in the Northeast snows, I found it to be excellent in the snow or slippery surfaces. The 4WD functions very well in conjunction with the Traction Control and Stability control functions. I think it did better than our 2007 Honda CRV with AWD.
Hard to answer because we don't know your priorities for a vehicle.
It's really as simple as listing them and seeing which has more of what you want.

I have had a 1st and 2nd Gen G35X and I loved them.
I now have a 09 FX35 and it is my favourite of the lot.
It all depends what you are looking for, both are great choices. You do get trade offs with either choice.

how does the FX35 handle, acclerate, sound, perform, etc. in comparrison to the g35x's you had?
I think I'm leaning towards a 2006/2007 FX35 or FX45

Obviously the sedan will be more agile and quicker since it is lighter and engines are the same. The FX does accelerate very well and handles very well for it's size. Originally Posted by squale

My FX has many more tech features than my 07 X had. It is a much nicer long distance cruiser.
You are talking about getting a 1st Gen FX, I have a 2nd Gen FX so I can't give you a good comparison that you want since the different generations perform differently because of HP, transmission and tech changes and improvements in the newer models.
You will have to see for yourself and take them for test drives. If you do get a 1st Gen I would definitely get an FX45 (Their performance is about the same as the 2nd Gen FX35).

Well they recommend premium fuel in all of those models (the sedan and the FX) so if you can't afford premium then another make would be better suited for you..Originally Posted by squale
yeah but premium fuel would kill me.. I drive about 35k miles per year

will $2 per fill-up (from a bone dry tank) really break the bank? if so buy something a little cheaper.Originally Posted by squale

well the infiniti service tech told me that they recommend premium on all of their vehicles but that you 'don't' need it...

but further back you said you were concerned about performance.Originally Posted by squale

Fill it with premium. Your car will thank you. It makes a very minimal difference in cost.

FX35 a bit slower and found a little powerless at upclimbing hills but it is a nice SUV with more cargo than the G. Can't go wrong with either one.
I found the G feels almost same when it climbs hill or go on flat terrain and the FX35 feels running out of power uphill. Any other case it was pretty good.
