Battery For The Key Fob

I just got the empty symbol regarding the battery on the key fob.

So tested the battery with a multi meter and it gave me a 3.26 reading.
Then I replaced the battery with a key fob from my 2009 caravan, which tested on the mulit-meter lower and that one didn't give me the low battery warning.

I don't get it?
Anyone have any ideas?

I test them in a battery tester and they all passed. I understand if the reading went below 3 like 2.6 or lower the battery is toast, but my readings were 3.10 to 3.26.

mine has been doing that too, and i still have ~150 feet of range when i press the unlock button,
the fob might measure current, not voltage.
who knows...

at any rate, mine has been warning me for 2 weeks. im going to keep using it till it stops working. i wanna see how long it lasts

I think they put the sensor too sensitive. I had the sign for 2 months before I changed the battery and was still working.

I think you're right, that was my conclusion as well.
After all the test I done all the batteries passed but it was still showing that warning.

It's the intelikey fob as well.
One of my fobs uses batteries very quickly. (sensor warning but still works)
My other fob battery lasts forever.

I understand that the thing is on constantly, but why get the low battery warning when the batteries are good? That's what I don't understand.
I can't see these FOB's using that much juice!

Just a guess (as an instrument tech), but I think as they age they start to leak more signal, causing more drain.

As far as the warning goes, I do think it's set a bit on the sensitive side.
They probably think it's better to get a warning than have someone with a dead fob that won't work.
(not all people read the manual on how to deal with this)

Fob low battery warning illuminates way too prematurely on my 2008. I have been using my original battery with warning lighting up for 10 months now. This might have been revised for later model years.

I will use OEM battery for as long as it lasts because they seem to last longer than replacement batteries. OEM batteries probably have to meet higher spec requirement... than the ones at Target or Walmart!

I can't take a chance with mine since doing the "hide the keyhole" mod.

Oh InTgr8r, I see what you mean. You would have a problem getting into your car.
