Ugghh. Lost my 07 voice commands
The in dash CD player on my 07 stopped working. The dealer replaced it under warranty and in the process flashed the BCM. My hard drive was wiped free of all my music, nav addresses, paired phones, etc (they did not replace the nav/hard drive, jut the CD/radio unit). All of that stuff I can reload on my own.
BUT, I also now have the 08+ voice commands instead of the 07. I took it back to the dealer, and they said they have no way of going back in programming. I put a call into Infiniti customer service and someone will get back to me.
I'm not pleased with this whole situation.
The only good news is that two of our phones previously did not work well over bluetooth with the car, but now do. I'll have to figure out if the additional phones working over bluetooth i more important than my voice commands, if Infiti has a fix for this for me.

I'd be
too
Just thought I'd update everyone on the status of this.
It turns out the voice commands are embedded into the radio. When you replace a radio, you get a re-manufactured unit. My original replacement was from an 08 with the newer commands. The dealership found me an 07 unit, and did the swap. I know have my voice commands back.
They apparently updated the bluetooth stack as well as part of the 07 to 08 changes. One of my phones did not work well originally, worked great with the 08 unit, and is back to having problems again with the 07. So, to answer harp00n, I don't believe there is any programming update they can do, it appears they have to physically swap out radios.
One thing I forgot to check was if they had updated the gracenote DB as part of the 07 to 08 change.
So, I now have my voice commands back, and my crappy bluetooth back (can't decide which i would have preferred, I think i would rather have bluetooth work well with all my phones)
Also, the woman I worked with at Infiniti Customer Service, Evelyn, did an outstanding job assisting me with this. She worked with the dealership, and called me every 3-5 days with an update, even when there was no update, just to tell me she was working on and it would call me soon. I always knew the status, and she always made sure I was comfortable with what i was being told (and I wasn't always, until I knew it was going to be fixed). Very pleased with Infiniti Customer service and the dealership for working through all this.
Now I have to (again) reload all my CDs onto the music box, set up my nav address book, etc....
