07 G35 Sedan Splash Guards question

I got my car fixed pretty recent (someone rear ended me) at a nissan dealership and they replaced the bumper but carried over the rear splash guards. When they put the rear splash guards back on they used the screws but also used some adhesive cause they said it didn't stay on very good like there was a gap. My question is, were they supposed to use the adhesive underneath? If I ever wanted to replace these for cosmetic reasons would it be difficult?

thanks

I changed my fronts due to a scratch on one of them. The adhesive will come off when/if you need it to

No they literally used a liquid adhesive (maybe silicon based?). Would that come off if I wanted to replace the splash guards and use the normal double sided tape?

if its silicon, it will come off easier. I've used silicon to hold things in place on my G and its always came off easily. I even used it to hold my rear g35 emblems back then.

when I bought my splash guards they came with double sided tape already, so I'm guessing it should be fine because it's comes from the factory.

I had my front fender replaced and they had to remove it and put it back on, I'm pretty sure they used adhesive because it's on gap really
