So yesterday I finally washed my 08 G35x after a heavy winter and lot snow and salt. It was 55 degrees outside. I washed the car, cleaned the rims using Eagle One tire and wheel cleaner and rinsed it off, dried the car and put it back in the garage.
The car sat in the garage the rest of the day and night.
This morning when I went to go to work and back out of the garage the car was frozen in its spot. When I put it in reverse and removed the brake pressure the car didn't start to roll out like it normally does. I don't apply the parking brake ever.
So I was like WTF? I applied light gas and heard something POP/BANG. The car was still stuck though. I let off the gas and then applied more gas and heard another louder POP/BANG and then the car started to roll out of the garage.
No indicator lights came on as I proceeded to drive around the block to make sure everything was OK. I came into work with no problems.
The garage never goes below 40-50 degrees.

What was this? Rusting rotors?

Rotor rust from the water. Brake a bit and it will come off, and you'll be back to normal.

Ya iv heard this before with rotors getting stuck no big deal a little gas and your back to normal.

I guess I'll drive around the block after washing my car next time go try and get the water out and off the rotors.

I washed my car yesterday too. What I usually do is wash it and drive it just for few minutes to get all the water dry from the car. Than I put it in my garage.

Invest in a good heater. That helps to keep a garage warm.

^ and the electricity bill up

Doesn't really have to be on all the time. I set mine for an hour each night. From 2-3 am. Doesn't drain much but makes a different. Most people waste more electricity by leaving the appliances and all other gadgets on when they don't use it.

I usually have this happen on my other cars if the parking brake was left on with it wet since it uses shoes.

You really should not see this much unless the calipers are sticking which could indicate some air in the system. I would consider flushing the system if it hasn't been done for awhile. Still with single acting calipers it is possible to have one pad still in contact so one thing to consider is simply pumping a couple of times when parked over night to attempt to avoid pad contact or a slave cylinder forming a rust circle around it. Another thing to check is to see how well your calipers 'float'.

I have never had this happen to mine, but to my 2009 caravan happens all the time after I wash it.
Like everyone says its no big deal.

Drum style parking brake expecially the particular style that uses a floor pedal that has to be released with the foot.

Most cars I know of with rear disc brakes use drums.

I prefer the hand released ones for rapid turns, especially with mt cars.

I don't suggest powering up to braking them loose when stuck. Most of the time I have been able to hand rock the car to get them to free up.
