just read through the thread on the seafoam. there are plenty links there to a videos on the net and plenty of info on how to do each procedure.

For fuel system cleaning you can just dump entire 16 oz can into your tank as long as you got 16 gal of fuel in there.

Wait, so are my filters bad? Should I just go to the local auto zone and get the cheapest engine air filters I can find and throw them in there? Do I need to spray them with filter oil first?

PS-would my warranty be void if I didn't use the original OEM filter?

I would replace both filters. The one looks horrible! I wouldn't be too particular with which brand--just OE-quality replacements. YOu can always decide on upmarket filters/intakes later.

Nah man. I will not be void.

Your warranty will be only void if you use mod that harms the car

They only care if you mod your car in such a way that it harms or effects the car significantly. Mods such as test pipes, supercharger or the like...

Hey, so neither pep boys nor the local advance auto parts store had air filters for my car...ugh. Sucks cuz I have a $10 off $25 coupon at AAP. The guy at AAP said that he wouldn't use seafoam to clean out my fuel injection system but would rather use Lucas cleaner. What do you guys think? Then again he also insisted that an 07 does not need to have anything done to it lol.

So I'm sitting at the Infiniti dealer right now waiting for my car. They said that if the computer doesn't find anything, they can't fix anything since they can't verify that it is really getting such **** mileage. They said that "neither we nor you have the time for someone to drive your car for a full tank of gas to verify"...I dunno. This is all somewhat shady to me. I hope they find something and fix it. I did just buy some air filters from them though...hopefully that will help. Also, I hear April 1st they will go back to less oxygenated gas so maybe my mileage will go up then as well. bleh...will keep you posted if they find something

Did the milage get worse or has it been like this since you bought this car you may wNt to contact the previous owner and see if he had any of the same issues also check your tire pressure and tread wear and make sure the foot break is released when driving keep us updated

Hey, I have checked all those things and they are good. Mileage has been that way, but it got better once I changed the oil (went from 6 to 9). I don't have the contact info of the previous owner, unfortunately :-/.

Stop driving with the emergency brake on...

Seriously, those filters look terrible. Definitely replace ASAP. AFE makes a dry filter that works or just get new OE..

I still think something has to be wrong. Like I said, I am getting 18mpg city right now and it's still fairly cold/cool weather. I don't drive hard but I still give it a little extra gas now and then each day...it's nearly impossible not to.
The first time I changed my air filters they where maybe about half as bad as yours but there was no noticeable difference in fuel economy although I'm sure there was probably a little difference.
So what did the dealer say?
