Question Another 30K Service Thread (I did use the search function :)

Alright so I'm over due on my 30K Service and all I have to do now is buy the parts associated with it (mechanic is ready to go). If someone could help me in identifying exactly what things are needed (i.e. I know I need auto trans. fluid. but I do not know which one I think it is Nissan Matic S but am unsure) things like that. I'll post up the list of things needed and if someone could help me out it would be great.

I've heard buying trans. oil and diff. oil from Nissan dealer is cheaper than Infiniti since they use the same so any suggestions or links to websites that see the things I need for cheaper then buying from my stealership would be great

Replace engine oil and filter
o Lubricate all locks/hinges
o Replace automatic transmission fluid
o Replace differential oil
o Replace engine air filter
o Replace engine coolant/flush system
o Replace engine drive belts
o Replace in-cabin microfilter
o Replace manual transmission oil
o Replace radiator cap
o Replace transfer case oil (4WD/AWD)
o Replace wiper blades
o Rotate tires (except G35 Sedan Sport and G37 Coupe Sport)
o Optional: flush automatic transmission (flush with ATF)

Thanks in advance for your help

What model do you have? No manual/AWD configuration.

Change your engine oil, filter, air filters, in-cabin filter, and wiper blades. Inspect everything else; there is no need to change coolant, transmission or differential fluid at 30K. (If your Mechanic can't identify the proper fluids and parts, or you don't trust them not to rip you off, then you need another mechanic.) You should be able to get all the parts you need at any auto supply store, and they can help you identify the correct fitment.

I just installed a replacement OEM factory belt since I was getting some "morning squeaks". It has a felt type lining on it.

It is actually pretty easy to change but it sounds like you have someone lined up to do all the work.

I will wait until 60K on the coolant and differentials... I'm a stickler for 30K changes on transmissions. I'm with her for the long haul.... if I was on lease or going to dump it before 100K it probably wouldn't matter. I also had transfer case fluid changed at the same time as transmission fluid since it was such a PIA. I probably do about 80% of my own work and leave the really messy stuff to others.

I got my belts replaced under warranty at 46k miles. The engine had some intermittent squeaking noises...Apparently, the belt tensioner was shredding the belt, so the dealer replaced a new one for free...I would suggest for the service, the only thing that you should do is just the oil changes...I have not serviced the car at 30k and it still runs great. I am planning to change the tranny oil/diff fluid at 60k miles. Wiper blades, air filters, cabin air filters, checking fluid levels can be DIY...very easy to do them.

At 30k, your car doesn't really need to have a major service.
