2010 Center Console Swap

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had though about replacing the 07-09 center console with the 2010?

The new console is really pretty, and since its almost the same freakin car I would be interested to see if anyone has looked into it.

I can see the Seat Heater buttons may be an issue, but the chrome accents and the arm rest cover are so well done. I would love to have that on my 08.

i gotta believe it will drop right in because the black vinyl/plastic trim on the sides is the same, all they did was change the way the cigarette lighter/ashtray section curve and that the center part rises. i bet you could do it easily, maybe with a little modification but i can't see it being a major deal.

yep, same side trim, the only difference is how the center part of the console rises at the shifter and changes direction at the cigarette lighter. i think you should go for it dude. personally i like the 07-08 version better but try it out and let us know.

BTW, you can do a cluster swap (new with the white lcd display) from '10. I read that one member who had '08 had it replaced under warranty with the '10 cluster.

Well maybe it was the 2011 model but i liked the touch of the leather on the center console. There is a piece of leather over the cupholders and the arm rest. It looks and feels really good.

If you look closely, the side trim is not the same. The 11's trim is rounded at the top, while the 08-10' trim is more sharp/angled. Also, where the trim drops toward the cupholder, you can see it's one piece with no seam (not like the older models).

You'd probably need the entire center console, not only the upper portion where the shifter is.

Am I the only one who sees the wood trim looking kind of plasticy and aftermarket? Unless it is aftermarket I also see that the '11 kept the same scratch-prone shift **** trim

Yeah the more I look at it I dont think its plug and play. Especially if the shift/gate **** is higher. I also was thinking it would be an entire swap from the ashtray area back. You guys should go sit in the new 2011 or 10 whatever it was. The leather consoles are pretty cool. I just have to see if I can find a wrecked 2011 with black interior lol.... Yeah right....

I also agree and think the wood that Infiniti uses is pretty lame. Especially in such a performance minded car. Something like the M series- may be better suited for wood. This 2011 or 2010 was sitting in the dealership when I got my car.

ah damn you're right. different side trim, however the foot print of the console should be identical so i doubt you'd have to modify the car or mounting holes.

I am thinking this is one of those things that looks pretty simple at the beginning but once you dig into it, it is going to become much more entailed than you originally thought.

I personally love the new wood trim. Much better than what they had as the option for 2007-2009.

You would have to change the trim in the entire car since both the aluminum style and wood style changed from 09 to 10.
