Dents, Dents, Dents, and hail

I live in Arizona and today was probably the biggest storm since earlier this year! It even brought in hail probably twice the size of peas leaving me with dents all over my car. What the hell do I do now?!?! Is there anyway it might fix itself or is this a job for the body shop? We never get any hail here in the AZ so this is totally new for me.

Start with PDR see what they say. Definitelly call your insurance to find out what your coverage is just in case it is going to be a bodyshop job.

usually if you have a loan, then you will have hail coverage (since you have to carry comprehensive coverage for the loan) Just pick a good body shop and fork over the deductible (unless you can find a great shop that will allow you to keep it, which is rare but out there)

Good Luck .....

Also dont let the cost shock you, a great shop can sometimes make a repair bill in the 8 - 10,000 range.... but also keep in mind PDR (cheaper to do and usually what insurance companies will push for) works great mos of the time if you dont mind them putting tiny holes on the side of the car to get to all the panels.... so this is completely your call if you are ok with the small holes on the seams...

I saw 4 cars in a DPR shop that came in from a Honda dealer with hail damage.
They had stripped out the headliners to get to the roof, the hood & truck were no problem.
They had one car finished when I was there and I couldn't tell where it had been damaged.

I'm sure these cars were sold and the owners never knew about it.

Thanks everybody for your advice. I looked at it again this morning in the sunlight to find only about 30-40 small dents (about the size of quarters in some places though). The damage doesn't look too bad so hopefully it shouldn't be to much to repair if I even decide to repair it lol.

We had a hail storm here in VA several months back with the same results but some of ours were about the size of a golf ball.

Nevertheless, as other mentioned, take it to a body shop that does PDR and they will give you an estimate in the thousands. Your auto insurance comprehensive coverage will take care of the bill, you just fork out the comprehensive deductible (for me it was $100). The best part is when they are done, you don't notice a thing! And if you already had some small door dings, they will be taken care of too. Trust me, the guys that do PDR are really skilled in their craft.

Can you post up some pics?

Most likely you can't do anything about it. To do paintless dent repair you have to know what you're doing or you're gonna mess things up and make it much worse and $$$$ later.

I work as a bodyman here in Oklahoma and we actually talked about what was going on in AZ today. You guys got hit hard huh!

Get an estimate, check your car insurance coverage and if it’s a really big amount, claim it from your company. Hope you have comprehensive coverage because that's what hail damage falls under.
