New ride

Hello all, finally upgraded from my Acura TSX 6spd to a 08 G35s 6spd....love it. I have skimmed the manual, but having trouble finding a few answers so thought I would ask. So obviously I am new to your forum, but understand the search feature but still didnt find the answers (sorry if these have been covered a million time).

1- Ipod...is there anyway to shuffle the songs so that i can use the steering wheel controls to go through the songs. Can find it, but on the display is says "shuffle no" and yes i have navi. and why the hell does the port not charge the ipod (stupid).

2- radar detector...has anyone hardwire their radar d, if so to where. i have whistler (i believe0

on a side note, this is the list of mods and upgrades planned in the near future.

Tein springs
Grill (not billet)
Intake
grounding wires
any other suggestions please feel free to holla.

thanks guys and gals

congrats on the upgrade!

Dont have an answer for 1 since i have the 07 which comes without the ipod integration, as for 2 you can simply buy the invisicord from ebay(cheaper) or blends mount then you can simply tap into the wires going into your rear view mirror for a easy seamless install. However, i went ahead and routed the wire through the headliner down through the A-pillar to the fuse box.

As for adding to the mod list, i would definitely suggest some rims and exhaust!

Hope this helps! Enjoy!

@wannabe6mt: there are AUX inputs taht you can play any mp3 player through but then you cant control it through the controls on the steering since there is no real ipod integration, but i like it as is.

But on the 08+ it comes with an ipod cable right? I know my dads 08 had the ipod cable, but his was a prem/nav/tech so i am not really sure what pack it came with.

I am planning on purchasing an 08, that is why I am wondering.

congrats and welcome, the interesting thing is before i bought my 07 G35S i was thinking about getting a 06 TSX manual, lol.
adding on to ur mod list, i would suggest the stillen catback exhaust, i have it on my car and absolutely love it. as for intake my recommendation is go for the R2C if you don't mind having a white filter and want easy install (ram airs are easier, the stillen gen 3 and injen cold air are bother more complicated) if you don't like the R2C then go for the injen short ram. i have the injen short ram on my car, and it's great however the filter likes to slide out, which is kind of annoying, also you don't get the full long tube.

Welcome.

Dont listen to the guys with 07's as the 08 Ipod interface is completely different.

1) To change the settings on the Ipod you need to hit the Scan/Repeat button and this will toggle thru the Shuffle/Repeat/Off settings on the Ipod. Then you can use the Steering wheel buttons to change songs.

You need to buy the following Scosche Passport adapter and add it to your Ipod chord. Its like 15-25 bucks depending on where u buy it. It will allow u to charge your Ipod while its plugged in.

2) Someone else mentioned the Blend Mount. but here is the thing I was going to do this with my car when i got around to picking up a radar detector.

They are even installing it on our car. Pretty Slick if you ask me especially for 15 bucks.

Good luck with your new car.

^ well the main reason i have one is to avoid those stupid speeding tickets that you get from the automated stationary cameras that they are installing all over this place now, and now they are REALLY difficult to spot since they dont have them on poles like before they have incorporated them into aluminum boxes that look like darn utility boxes and in stationary minivans!

With my rx65 it has so far picked up each and EVERY camera quite a distance in advance to help me keep my speed in check.
