Happened to me at a coin operated car wash bay. I think it was when I was bending over to get the underside of the car. I then proceeded to rinse down the side of the car and sprayed water from the pressure nozzle directly into the car for about 1 second before I realized what had happened. It wasn't too bad but it certainly pissed me off. Now I make sure the key is safely in a jacket pocket.

turn on the heated seats for a while and use a hair dryer from outside. That should dry it out.

you may want to go to a rental place and rent a carpet dryer. You may be able to position it in the back seat to blow air down and under the front seat. the point is to maximize air flow to draw out the moisture. Since the leather is perforated, air may be able to come up through the foam and out the top surface of the seat... just a theory

Ouch. I always keep my keys in my front pocket or on a lanyard.

Does the interior still smell?
