dealer told me that the tranny wont be touched during 30k????

I got an estimate for the 30k, after doing research here as well as other forums, I got the impression everyone does either a drain and fill or a flush with their 30k... my dealer told me that the tranny is just checked, but nothing will be done to it during the 30k check up unless needed and it'll cost 600. He said they don't replace belts unless they need to, and they basically go over the car and do a coolant flush.

Anyone hear of this before? He said the trannt is worked on at 60k only. Why would I pay 600 for nothing major except some adjustments and filters????

Don't go to the dealer.. They'll rip you a new one. Id change all your fluids for $50 and a case of beer.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I read getting services by nissan does not void warranty (?) and it is cheaper... but, do they use all the parts and fluids for an Infiniti or do they use nissan equivalents? I don't really know if Infiniti has its own fluids and such, or if evrything is identical from its parent company nissan.

Nearly all the fluids that Infiniti dealership uses are Nissan fluids. Nissan dealers would not do warranty work on Infiniti cars generally, but when it comes to general maintenance (i.e. fluids/oil/etc) I would use Nissan dealership if their pricing is better without much hesitation.

Most likely your mechanic didn't do a flush for $50. Just the fluid itself needed for a full flush would cost more than that. He probably did a drain-and-fill.
