What's a good intake for around $300?

I know an intake won't get me HP gains. I am in it for the sound. Does anyone have any good clips of some G35's with just an intake on it? The only videos i can find have an after market exhaust as well. I just want to hear the intake. Looking to get one in a few months. How much better will it sound?

Any recommendations for around $300 or do i have to spend more?

I am seeing Stillen but they are around $400-500. Is this what i have to spend? Is there any difference between long and short tubes?

LOL, I just created a post a couple of days ago with my R2C setup. There are before and after videos with just intakes and stock exhaust. Here:

How long did it take to install? Easy?

That was quick, lol!

The install is quite easy actually. I haven't really messed with anything under the hood before (except grill removal for plasti-dip paint), but it only took me about an hour and half, and that's after 15 minutes of looking for the ratchet I accidentally dropped after tightening one of the screws :banghead:

I used this video to get a clue on how to remove the stock intakes:

And I used this thread to anticipate possible hose length issues:

Just Ordered R2C Intake From Andy

Once you get it, feel free PM me if you have any questions on install!

Did you get rid of those resonators? Little black boxes connected to the stock intake and what purpose do those serve do you know?

Disconnected battery correct?

Seems pretty simple to remove. I am jut always afraid of screwing something up lol

God i want to order them now! lol

I am not 100% sure what the resonators are for, but I think they are used to reduce the sound that comes from the air flowing through the stock intakes. Anyways, I removed those suckers because that's what the instructions direct you to do, otherwise you'll have hose fitting problems. And yes, first step is to disconnect negative terminal on the battery.

Yeah, I was pretty excited, too, when I finally decided to pull the trigger! Hope you get them ordered ASAP! :D
