rev matching when not in DS mode?!?!?

I just started to use the ds mode lately, and from what I understand the rpm jumps while slowing down is from the rev matching during downshifts.... which is normal for DS mode (correct me if I am wrong please)

I noticed that when I am not in ds, and in standard D mode it happens once in a while slowing down...but its very gradual (going on curves, braking, etc) is this normal?!? Dealer recently did a update on ecu, I dunno if that has anything to do with it or if this is normal.

I did notice with a 2008 g37 loaner that when I abruptly braked, the rpm jumped alot higher and slowly decreased while downshifting as well...

I have seen this happen

The car is always going to "rev-match" in auto mode... otherwise, the automatic transmission would tear itself apart.

The Rev Matching comes into play when in Manual mode. Drop two gears quickly and you'll see/feel/hear it easily.

My 2007 does the same thing, even in D under heavy braking it downshifts pretty aggressively sometimes.

No worries... it's normal.
They talk about it in the brochure and they go into even more detail in the owner's manual.

Don't get me wrong, i liked my old car due to the fact that it was dirt cheap to fix unlike what Infiniti would charge for the exact same parts. We will see!

But yeah it's normal

i believe the car does that normally, my g does that also. my 07 corolla would do the same, if u hit the brakes a little harder especially downhill, if ur moving a little fast it'll sense it and drop a gear for safety, it helps slow u down faster

I know.. it has been a while. Life has been especially busy for me the last year or so. I had to track down my old pics to re-generate my old avatar. :-) I'm gonna try to be back more.
