PLEASE HELP ME!!! Catback problems!!!

I purchased and received what I believe to be a HKS clone off ebay. Here is a link to pics of the cat back system I have.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT . I have brought it to 2 shops that have said it has the wrong mufflers because the muffler that has 2 hangers the longer one is facing the wrong Direction. You can see what I mean in the pic. Now just to make it clear I am installing this system on my Infiniti 2007 G35x all wheel drive 4 door sedan. I purchased it from a company called EMUSA- E motors USA http://www.emotorusa.com/. The model # on the box is CBE-NS-036 which there website says is for a Nissan 350Z 02-07 Hi power. Here is a pic of the real HKS system installed on what I think is a G35 coupe but looks very similar http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-H...9QQitemZ120519. There is a black plastic cover between the mufflers in the rear of my car. I believe it covers the gas tank. Do I need to remove this? Is the measurement from center of exhaust tip to center of the other tip different from the coupe and the sedan? Are the hangers in different locations on the coupe then the sedan? They reassured me 3 times that it would fit before I actually purchased it. With the short extensions starting right off the Cats it has the right length. I hope someone can help I'm pulling my hair out over this. Any help will be real appreciated. THANKS!

I can't get a good look at the set up because that first link is to an expired auction and the second link just doesnt show me much.

Obviously, you've already learned this the hard way (and it looks like you did confirm with them several times) but you have to be very careful when buying this type of stuff off of ebay... especially knock-offs.
There's no telling what fits until you're under the car trying to jam it in there.

I have pics of my OEM exhaust if you need comparos... but I cant seem to see what you bought.

A halfway decent pic of our stock cans...
How does this compare to what you bought?

Yeah... that link isn't working for me.

Can you compare your muffler hangers to my pics?
Do they seem to line up or is something way off?

Unless you were planning to hack it up and custom weld it to fit, there is no way that part would be a bolt on to a 2007+ G sedan. The fact that they say it'll fit a Z should have tipped you off.

Does this work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...69829991289934

That looks like an exhaust from an 03+Z, and it looks like it comes with extenders for the 03+ G Coupe. I don't think that exhaust is made for the V36 sedan....

I don't know what to tell you other than the chance of that fitting on your X without hacking it up are pretty slim. Is it possible to take some actual pictures of what you have? It would go a long way towards figuring it out. I know it is a PITA, but you are asking other people for help and it is hard to see what you have....

EDIT.... and a good rule of thumb is if the spell Infiniti wrong, call our motor a VQ35GE, and say the exhaust is for an 02+ Z (which did not exist) it is a good sign to stay away. That is definitely a 03-07 G Coupe exhaust.

LOL... he did ask!

I hate seeing this crap happen to people.

Yes, thanks.. the above link worked. Those hangers are very clearly different.
You are either SOL, or in for some extra labor trying to frankenstein that thing into your poor car.

Oh I will disputing it with ebay.... Here is a link to a video of this cat back installed on a g35 coupe
its just hard to see where the hangers are located because the camera moves fast. But it looks like the right hand muffler with the two hangers that the longer hanger is not being used. You have to pause the video right before he comes out from under the lift. THANKS!

That exhaust is only for the 03-07 350Z cars asyou can see from the cricked mufflers in the first link and it even says VQ35GE where i think they meant to say VQ35DE which is previous gen Z's

Not fitting on your car, dispute and either get the right one or your money back, if all else fails you should be able to sell it to a Z owner on the 350Z site,

That is the problem with buying from someone like that. They don't care about a $200 exhaust; at least not enough to take the time to figure out the difference between a 07 coupe and sedan.... I am sure they just heard 07 G, and said it would fit.

the description says 03-07 G35, which would be the coupe, since the last year for that gen sedan was 06. if you cant get money back from Ebay sell it on craigslist to a Coupe guy. tons of demand in the market for 03-07 coupes.
