Dying car seats?

I visited a car body shop to discuss about the black seats restore they are faded. They said, for each seat would be $200 and they look like a brand new after the dye work.

Is that true? did any one get this kind of job to believe or waste of money?

Thanks for your inputs!

for 200$ it is a waste, if it was maybe $100 then not bad, but to be honest, cant you get new seats or even the whole leather redone for almost that much ?

the dye isnt as perminant as the original and it will rub off easier. also will smell pretty bad. i would just try a really good leather conditioner first to see if that helps.

You may also want to check out any local junk yards that have any totalled Gs
with the interior still intact.
