I want to reset my ECU since I just got a new exhaust installed. But I am concern about a couple of things. Recently the dealer did an upgrade software for my cam sensor, will resetting the ecu erase that upgrade ? (doubt it just asking tho)
Also I plan on doing the whole disconnecting the battery and holding the brakes for 10 seconds thing, dont want to deal with the gas pedal thing.
Whats the worst that can happen after resetting an ECU ... I've never done such a thing (that i know of) before.

 

it wont erase the "upgrade" doing the battery reset will make you loose your memory settings, radio presets etc, no real downside, it will drive a bit aggressive for a few days till the car can relearn your driving habits and settle down.
