midnight black grill questions

i know that infiniti makes the midnight black grill for 08's, and i know they come with the 2 chrome strips on the top and bottom...

does anyone know if infiniti has one that does NOT have any chrome in it?

also, is the material on the grill a shiny black color or is it a dull black color? i am trying to get an idea how it will stand up to rock chipping.... thinking about getting one, but if its a POS like the OEM grill and it'll chip just like it, i dont see the point.

thx for the feed back!

do it yourself ... take the grill out, sand it down real good, use some heavy duty black glossy spray paint from pepboys, and do a layer of clear coat ... tada free, well technically like 5 bucks ...

The black areas are a metallic black with flakes in it. I had mine over a year, with only a few chips in it.

^ whs, mine is very few chips but they are not noticeable AT ALL since its metallic black with flakes even from close. Its worth it imo cause the DIY seem to show more chips from what iv seen here but if you wanna save a few $$ and dont mind spending that much time then DIY is the way to go

Some ppl here have done it, it should look ok but dull grill wont look as good imo on darker color cars.

Plastidip looks very good! I have a Midnight grille but plastidiped the stock grill because I like all-black better. If you want it glossy, all you have to do is make sure you have plenty of plastidip coats on there and make sure it's completely dry and cured before you clear coat it.

I plastidipped mine as well. It comes together really nicely. Not like rattle cans. 3 coats is good.

I have a black sedan and thinking about plasti dipping my grill, will it look dull or should I go with the rattle paint?
