Question Stupid Question?

Okay here's what may be a stupid question... So I get home today and all 3 house cars are on the street. Counting my G we're at 4. So, first, I turn on the Chevy TrailBlazer using the key, move it, and turn it off using the key. Turn on the '99 Honda Accord with key, move it, turn it off with key. Turn on the '03 Accord with key, move it, and turn it off with the key. Finally the G. I turn it on by pressing the button, move it, hop out, lock it and head inside. Notice I forgot to do a little something... If it wasn't for my brother telling me "Hey, your car is still on", I don't know if I would have had any gas in the morning.

So moral of the story and my question. Do we have some kind of relay or timer that will shut off the car after a certain period of time if the key is out of the area and the car is locked? Thanks!

Lol I was worried about that haha. But the fact that I have the key in my pocket and I locked the car is what gets me... lol it would be nice if they did something like that for idiots like me haha.

I seriously hope not. My wife typically waits in the car while I go into the store or whatever, she'd be pissed if she didn't have climate control.

(and yes, that's right; I WILL NOT give her the key )

The car will beep three times if you exit with the key while the engine is running. It isn't much different from leaving the headlights on and trying to exit any other car.
When I brought my car in for the Elite plan dealer inspection, I pulled into the service bay and was shown to the waiting room. I went for a walk to see what they had on the lot, and as I felt the key fob in my pocket a page came over the loudspeaker asking me to kindly return to the service bay.
So it happens to the best of us.

Too funny. I like to leave mine on for a few minutes to run up to get something and be able to lock it and still have the keys. Its a pretty cool feature.
