Stereo has gone haywire
Stereo has gone haywire
When I use the CF card, it randomly jumps from track to track, without finishing songs. I tried several different cards with no difference. I tried the music box and it does the same thing, playing a few seconds of a song then jumping. Even the radio skips to other pre-set stations at random. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I'm sure I'll have to take it to the dealer, but I'm out of warranty now so I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny.
Thats a weird issue that i havent seen anyone complain about so far on these forums at least unless i missed it, there was this one tsb a while back which was basically due if you could not scroll through your radio presets but nothing to do with random jumping between tracks and presets....
Is you nav working ok? if not then my guess would be that the HD is having problems else you might have to end up replacing the entire audio cluster with a used one from ebay maybe... hope you figure it out.

Try disconnecting the car battery for a little while to reset the electronics, including the head unit. It's more than a HD issue if it happens to the radio too.
Have you or the dealer ever taken the head unit out?

I'm having the same issue. Pulled the fuse, no help. I didn't get an owners manual when I bought the car used, so need to dig up the reset code after losing battery power I expect?
Sounds like the beginning of some bad juju!!
With the car running Roll the window down and hold it down for 5 to 10 seconds.
Roll it back up and hold the button in the up position for 5 to 10 seconds.
should fix it. when I got mine they did the same thing. Appears to be a reset.
Also for your CF card, what size? I've heard people say 2GB is the largest it will accept, if that's true it would indicate a system and processor restriction. You could also try formatting the card, I haven't found any specific information on the CF card reader, but if it's under 2GB you could format it in FAT16 or FAT32 which are basic formatting structures that are somewhat universal.
