Seat belt problem?

Hi, I am wondering if it is normal for my front driver side seat belt to not lock when I yank on it? The passenger side locks when I yank on it. This is a salvage title car. Had it for couple years with no problems. Just noticed the seat belt problem. I think it is probably the seat belt tensioner but if it is not working, I would think the SRS light will turn on or something. How hard is it to change out the tensioner? thank you

Do you want it to lock on you? I am sure it would be nice but you have an air bag in front of you to push you back in you seat.

^^ Absolutely. Your airbag is only a padding/energy absorbing device, it is not intended to work alone and you still need your seat belts to contain you within your seat.

It's been a while but I still have not figured it out yet. Can anyone check their seat belt for me and let me know? Just give it a good tug and see if it will lock up or not. Is there any ways I can check to make sure my belt is functioning properly? Again no lights on dash. Thank you all.
