Just ordered Michelin Primacy MXM4 TireRack

OE Goodyear RS-A's were fine but tread gone at 30k. Just ordered Primacy MXM4 v rated 225/55R17's from tirerack $616 including shipping to my installer after current $70 rebate and my local Mr Tire is on the rims and out the door for $84 including disposal and has a 20% discount on an alignment through tirerack. Seems like a very good deal as I shopped it around. I was looking for an all season grand touring tire rather than ultra performance as I wanted more tread life and I don't drive it like I stole it. Will give a review 1,000 miles on the road. I felt the OE handled like glue, never had any issues with flat tires or air pressure or any problem at all over 3 years and 30k, but unless it's the car's tight suspension, they were a pretty hard ride over anything other than smooth pavement and would have cost more than the Michelin's did. And most importantly I would like to get at least 50k miles before coughing up the cash for another set. The Primacy MXM4 replaces the Pilot MXM4 with supposed newer technology and supposedly a better tire than the well reviewed Pilots. Hope it works out.

Nice pick on tires, these are the ones that I was going to get but didn't. I knew I would regret not getting them and I am right.

MXM4 v. MXV4

Those were the two tires that came up for the G35X for year round driving on the Michelin web site. If the below link works this is Michelin's comparison of the tires. Went with the MXM4 because of the 10-9 edge in handling as still wanted what the OE was giving me, but more tread life than the OE and perhaps a bit more comfort. And the MXM4's were $80 less than the MXV4's. The MXV4's have a 5k longer tread life listed and 10-9 edge on comfort. Is there any specific reason the MXV4's were a better choice?

What about speed ratings? Read tire rack reviews, I forget the specifics...

Hi I just got the MXM4's as well, but they are very "loose" in terms of stickiness. Everytime I make a left turn with spirited driving, the VDC slips.

^ let it settle and break-in and double-check those tire pressures. Although a different tire, the set i bought from an online vendor was pumped up to 40psi.
