Do you guys that think "it's worth a try" have ANY idea how your computer controls your engine?

Pro tip: This won't help. It will jack with your computer's ability to properly control fueling and timing.

^ I'm pretty sure we were all being a little (or a lot)
These are typical replies when someone even uses the word 'Chip' in the same sentence as G35/37, VQ etc.

stumbled upon this.. just wondering if anyone's installed this and if so, does it really make a difference in hp and gas consumption?
The dinan chip for BMW s is good but for Nissan/infiniti it seems chips don't add much hp if any.

Can someone explain why they work well on bmw's but not infiniti's?

Dinan chips are made by a company that works with the manufacturer (DINAN)lol thus they know how to get more performance out of a car but thats why there chips cost around a thousand bucks because they work, if NISMO made a chip then i would buy it since it would be backed by actual research.

SO after reading the chip page lol and reading this part:

Installation can be performed by anyone using simple hand tools. The GF module installs into your INFINITI G35's engine bay and is connected via 2 wires that plug into the IAT sensor.

So what this chip is gonna be is a resistor you can buy at radio shack for a dollar with two wires that you will plug into your INTAKE AIR TEMPARATURE sensor which is not a good idea as your ecu uses this info for driving. This is garbage i have seen these around for years now same bs for every car

Just because it's called a "chip" doesn't mean it is even remotely similar with another chip (Dinan) inside. That's like assuming that the contents of two small cardboard boxes are of equal value when one of them says "Cartier" on the outside and the other says "Smart and Final".

Dude seriously I laughed out loud! Take what these veterans have to say seriously though. Most of them do their research pretty well. I take my cues from them often. Even though you got flamed, never be afraid to ask a question. After all that's what this forum is for.
