Cheap man's exhaust...

After i finally got my clutch all figured out did not have much money left over to buy an exuast kit.

So what i ended up doing was removing the resonators.

I love the sound

Im guessing he is talking about the rear mufflers when he says resonators so for that all you have to do is to get underneath ur car, loosen the clamps that connect the muffler tube to the y pipe on both sides, slide out the flanges from the exhaust hangers and youre done. 10min job really. But then you have no exhaust showing in the back which looks.... :eek3: on the G imo.

Nope .. He said resonators that's the two thingys in the mid pipes.
Makes the car sound a bit louder and raspy

Yes,,, thats what i did,, got rid of Y pipe, and resonators,, fabricated up a nice X crossover pipe to stock mufflers,,, def sounds decent....

kool_yaar Jun 29, 2011 10:03 PM

^ ah that does make more sense and would be a better option.... just from past experience i have seen most refer to the mufflers as resonators here when they removed em and since its a much easier job i presumed that was the case here as well... my bad.

this is my 07 with custom x-pipe and no res and after market muffler. way to loud for my taste... so i just decided to go with factory muffler and retain custom x-pipe and magnaflow res.

I wonder how much it costs to get a custom x pipe done with removal of resonators....

Depends on where you go. I paid around 300 for parts and labor. In total, I spent 600
