Help! I did a quick search, but couldn't find my exact problem. My doors won't stay locked with my windows rolled up. I have to crack the front windows about a 1/4 inch for the doors to stay locked. But, as soon as I roll the windows up, the doors automatically unlock!! It is as if my car is possesed!!
Anybody experience this problem before?? At first I thought it my KP Technologies window roll-up module, but I unplugged it and the problem persists. This is obviously a problem in Florida where it rains almost everyday and I park my car outside at work. Of course my warranty expired last month, am I screwed?!?!

Never heard of it so its not normal for sure, since you have the KP installed, id say you take out the KP completely and go back to complete stock connections rather than just unplugging it and try again. Thats the only thing i can think off
This is a crazy idea so forgive me if it's way off . . . Have you made sure you don't have a key left inside the vehicle; either your primary or the spare by any chance? I say this because I once had my spare AND my normally used keyfobs in my pocket at once and, wouldn't you know it, the spare slid out of my pocket and down under the driver seat. I kept checking that I had my key OUTSIDE the car, but the damn car still wouldn't let me lock it !! I was about to shoot it (literally) when I remembered I had had the spare with me too. I just thought maybe it won't lock a key in the car unless it knows you can get in the window (???) . . . errr something

I thought about that scenario, but my spare key fob is inside the house. For a temporary fix, I am manually locking each door before I get out of the car. But, everytime I roll the driver's window up, the doors automatically unlock, whether they are locked or not. And if I try to lock the doors, either with the fob or the door switch, if the windows are up, the doors will promptly unlock.
That's totally weird. It's hard to know where to point fingers when you have the KP in there. Maybe as a general test of its "sanity" you could try and see if it WILL allow you to lock the doors with the key inside and the windows down? If it does that, you know it's out to lunch.
I don't know how it's wired up, but if you do suspect the KP module is causing it, maybe you could just pull power to the module and then temporarily short across the terminals where it's spliced into the normal circuitry.

Well, the good news is the power locks don't seem to be possesed any more (knock on wood). The bad news is the drivers door lock doesn't seem to work anymore. WTF?!?! It doesn't work with either the fob or the door switch.

Nope, haven't replaced the battery recently. It is about a year old. And what do you mean by window position reset? Is that the routine where you roll the window up & down like 3 times all the while depressing power window switch?

Well, the problem is back. I can't lock the doors with the driver's side window rolled all the way up. I have to roll the window down about a 1/4 of an inch for the power locks to lock the doors. Otherwise, they just unlock right after I lock them.
And now my drivers door power lock doesnt work. It is just completely dead. The switch works and will lock/unlock the other doors, but the drivers door lock is dead. I have to manually lock it.

Did you ever fix this problem?
I would pull the door panel off and check the wiring of the KPtechnologies module. Do you know how the KPtech blue wire is spliced to the OEM door lock actuator? If a "t-tap" style connector was used it is possible that either the OEM door lock wire broke or corrosion has caused a failure. If the wires were soldered in chances of the installation being the issue is slim to none.
Unplugging the KPtechnologies NM20 module will eliminate the electronics from the equation, but it won't eliminate any potential installation issues. The NM20 doesn't interrupt any signals - everything is paralleled.
It sounds like your "UP" limit switch is shorted to your unlock wire - seems odd but that is the only thing I can think of. Do you have aftermarket speakers by chance?

This has actually turned into quite a saga. I bought a new lock actuator module from a dealer online and attempted to install it myself. The actual installatoin turned out to be more of a challenge than I originally thought once I got the door apart. So, I decided to put it all back together and bring it to a local body shop.Well, when I put the door back together, the window no longer worked and was stuck down about a 1/4 of an inch ;(
The local shop was able to get the locks working again by replacing the lock actuator module but could not decipher the problem with the window. They thought it may be the actual window switch. So, I bought a used window switch assembly off of Ebay and installed it. However, the window still does not work and is still down about a 1/4 of an inch. Ugh!!
I read about resetting the window with a button on the motor, but not sure if that will solve my problem. Other than that, I guess my only choice is now the dealer and unforuntately, the car is out of warranty.
Turns out the the weird problem with the doors not lockign with the window rolled all the way up was due to the wiring from the KP module being wrapped around the window glass. The body shop repaired all of the wiring for me.
Any ideas out there before I drop a few hundred at the dealer???

Have you checked voltage and ground at the power window switch? Also, any chance you unplugged the window motor when you were trying to get at the actuator? Based on the fact that the window quit working when you took the door panel off I would assume that something was inadvertently bumped or tugged that caused the problem. I would pull the door panel off one more time and check out all the wiring at the power window motor itself!
