will this reverse backup camera work

Hey guys so Im looking to buy a cheap reverse backup camera just for something I can have for about a month or to till I get a better one but will this one work?

http://www.amazon.com/Koolertron%C2%.../ref=pd_cp_e_1

It says something near the description about NTSC and being compatable with most North American stuff. But not sure if this will work or not. need help cause if this will work ima pull the trigger and get it

ya the NTSC video system is what we use in the US while PAL is used in europe, asia etc. So NTSC wise it should work fine other than that i cant say for sure of whether it'll work or not depending on its quality and other possible issues so buy at your own risk

yep, that will work

That is a CMOS camera....research whether you'd prefer a CMOS or CCD, I forget which one is better

Go with CCD. It has a better picture quality.

Post some pics of where you stuck this thing. I'm guessing somewheres around the license plate? Else it would stick out like a sore thumb....

Sorry, this might be a little off topic. But how much would this cost with parts and install?

CCD is better, better quality and functions better in lower temperatures (which is important for me being in the northeast), CMOS is usually cheaper and gives you more options in the end (i.e. - backup lines), but at the expense of quality.

RickBlkG - are you looking to get a functioning reverse camera installed? one that automatically comes on in reverse? if you're willing to hit the "aux" button yourself to go to the image you can get it installed for whatever the price of the camera is by doing it yourself. it's quite easy.

the PAC VCI-NIS2, which automatically triggers the camera in reverse, is around $250 if i recall. if you look under my name i have a thread that shows how i installed my camera. and there are other members with threads in the electronics section.
