Any performance data on aftermarket exhausts?

I am new to the forum and read the compilation thread with each exhaust and also performed a search for my answer but came up empty. I see all the different exhausts for the G but no mention of performance between any of them. Is there really no performance gain and simply a cosmetic and tone change?

I have always modded my previous cars with at least an intake and exhaust. Wondered what type of hp increase can be had with the mods on the G. I have an X model and wouldn't do this for some time but want to get the thought process going. Surprise to see the exhausts so much for the G.

From what I've found Motordyne and Fast Intentions has the best sound and performance gains.

I have a first gen sedan, but the Motordyne cat back I have added 10hp and 7 lb/ft of torque. I'm also adding their ART pipes in a couple of weeks and should see more significant gains. Needless to say I'm a big fan.

they are all about the same, i wouldnt worry about HP numbers, you arent going to be able to tell the difference in 3hp. go for what you like sounds best. i went with Fast intentions and couldnt be happier.

I wouldn't drop the money on an intake and exhaust unless I get some at least subtle gain. I would think the gain between the two should be 20-30. Am I wrong?

I have to agree. I wouldn't take HP numbers too seriously. I can't imagine you would have too much of a gap between the two. I have been looking at exhaust setups pretty much since the day I got my G. Personally, I would just go with your budget, quality and of course sound. I brought my choices down to Fast Intentions and Invidia in the end then kept going back and forth until finally making my choice.

Happy to say my new Fast Intentions setup (which will have their new X pipe) will be here Thurs.

Good look on your search!
