rear tire size (18's) QUESTION

Getting new tires for the rear and am wondering if 255's or even 265's would fit... searched the threads but couldn't find a page to pinpoint this question I had.

Yes, 255/45 will fit just fine on the rear. A 265 isn't as good of a fit as you'll need to drop the profile down at least to a 40 and even at that, it's a bit too wide for the rim. You'll lose a bit of performance on such a narrow rim as well as some smoothness from the drop in profile. Another consideration is: What you will be doing with the front tires size wise so that they match the diameters of the new rear sizes? If you leave the stock size (225/50) you may experience ultra sensitive VDC and/or SLIP complaints from your car's traction control system. A good partner for the 255/45 rears would be 235/50 fronts. They are only 1.5% taller than the stock size, but as a pair, they are nearly identical in ratio between front/rear as the stock set. This is a very good thing if you hate traction control overreacting whenever you take a freeway on ramp or make a tight turn. Here a tire calculator link for researching this a bit:

BTW, there are endless threads discussing all this; you need to sharpen those searching skills ;)

Lol I will for sure! Thanks for your response it is greatly appreciated... Looks like I will have to wait it out and go with the 245's because the front 225's have a lot of tread left.
Once again thanks mate!!
