Question about auto headlight and sensitivity setting

Thanks for all the responses. I'm really enjoying this forum. Since I'm a bit of a worrier, I'm glad to hear the folks that leave it on auto haven't had any noticeable issues.

I just bypassed my light sensor by blocking it so all I need to do is turn the switch one click forward to auto for the lights to come on no matter how bright or dark it is outside. This way, the lights come on once and stay on until I'm ready to turn them off instead of coming ON then turning back OFF and finally turning back ON as I turn the switch towards the manual on position.
The same annoyance used to occur when turning them off. Lights ON, then OFF, then back ON and then OFF as the switch was being turned to the off position. Simply leaving them in AUTO used to have them come on in the garage, then off as I faced the sun in the morning, then back on as I went under an overpass etc. I just got tired of it.
