Three weeks ago while playing a recorded album I pressed the "Menu" button to access the options screen and could get only the first four (of eleven) options to respond. All others including "Search Albums" suddenly were gray and could not be accessed. After the dealer ran an electronic diagnostic review I was told nothing was wrong and it might be a safety feature that blocked access when the car is moving. This cannot be true as I was able to access the entire menu selection before the problem appeared. Also, I drove a friends car with the same system and the Music Box option systems do not go gray when driving. Now I can access everything only when at a dead stop however six of the options screen items turn gray when the car reaches 3 mph. It has to be a sensor, computer program or safety system malfunction. The dealership appears to be no help, has anyone experienced this problem and had it resolved?

 

im not sure if mine grays those items out or not as i havent really tried to notice it but i wont be surprised if they are locked when moving as the 'safety' feature does lock out more than 80% of the items overall.

This is my one gripe about this car (i know there is a KP module fix for this or the forbidden nav mod but im not that bothered about it to mess with it and have any warranty issues later), my TL-S has no menus or items locked out at all which is nice but dangerous if being used while driving by someone who doesnt pay attention on the road.

So your suggesting I purchase one of these?? I was hoping for a free fix as I can't even gain access to all 11 option in park nor drive..surely there is a fix without having to drop 100 bucks
