Question about 08 G35s

New to the forums but long time lurker. Had a question about a potential new ride.

So i work at a honda dealership and i drive an 03 G35 Sedan.(love that baby).
We just got in a 08 G35s Amazing condition and loaded. Now i have my fair share of knowledge on infinities so when i heard it was a 35-S i thought it would have the Manual Trans. But this one has an automatic trans. Is This truly a S or someone just decided to badge it with it? I get it at a great employee price compared to what i've seen dealers and private parties selling theirs for so i just wanted to make sure before i trade mine in get this one.

Any feedback on anything would be great. Thank you

Yes. it could very well be a Sport model without the manual. Sport was offered as an option for the auto's. Here's some reference for you:

^ I would go as far as to add that most of the G35S' sold where/are automatics with paddle shifters. The 6MT sedan is far more rare....something like 10%

Yep, you got your answer. If it has an 'S' on the back and paddle shifters, you can pretty safely say it is an 'S' and not a rebadge. (It should also have the sport seats with adjustable bolsters and thigh extender)

The upgrade from a first-gen to a second-gen is significant. I traded in my 04 for my 08 back in June. The smile has never left my face. The car handles so much better, and even though it is not a Manual, the paddles make it pretty fun to race through the curves. I say "Go for it!!"

Just wondering, does the engine rev match for down shift?

I'm perfectly happy with the 'au natural' experience of my 6MT.

The sport package includes 18" wheels IIRC in addition to the seats and suspension upgrades. I'm not sure if it includes limited slip or not with the automatic transmission. The early cars were nice, but the 2007+ cars are incrementally better in almost every way. Lots of little things like the way traction/stability control engages to how much easier it is to change the engine air filters. 2008 was the last year for the G35, but the body style carries on with minor changes to 2012 so it probably won't look too dated anytime soon. I think the cars are mechanically pretty reliable, but I'd consider getting an extended warranty because of all the electronics in the car.

Yes, the 2008 G35S auto has the same features as the 6MT, including VLSD. Where the Sport does not have all the same features is on the G35xS which does not have VLSD, staggered wheels or bigger brakes.

Drove Maximas for years, but went to the G because Nissan doesn't make a six speed any more.
