Calling all parents. What is your experience with the G and infants
#17
The only problem I've had is car seats leaving indentations in the rear seats. The leather has been easy to clean up. I've got a Recaro car seat and it fits in the trunk of my 2008 despite the CD changer. My son is 4 now and given a choice he always wants to ride in "Dads car." Two adults will fit in back with a car seat, but they better be friendly and I wouldn't plan on going far.

Don't worry
I have an '07 G35S 5AT sedan. I've owned it since 12/06 and have a 3 year old and a 6 year old daughter.
In terms of practicality with one or two small children, the G sedan is fine.
In terms of keeping your car in good shape, just make sure to do the following:
(1) Lay down towels or blankets under the car seats.
(2) Do not allow eating or drinking in the car.
(3) Make sure to remove the shoes of any child in a forward-facing car seat if he/she might kick the seat.
If you do the above, your car will remain pristine, and will be totally fine for a family with small kids.

Have a 6 month old who sits in the middle facing the rear. I'm 6'1" with long legs and have no problem bringing my seat back and worrying about bumping the car seat. I will say I have sat in the back a few times and it is pretty tight with a car seat, I'm lean so bigger adults may feel a little cramped, especially on a longer ride. In terms of putting in strollers, etc, the trunk lid isn't the biggest but it is adequate. The other family car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee so if we need more space we take the Jeep. So all in all the G isn't the most conveinent car but it gets the job done and it's bad *** so you need to keep it

Got my G 5 months after my first born. It's definitely very tight in the front passenger seat when the car seat is rear facing. Once they are front facing it isn't an issue at all. My wife sat in the back with the munchkin until he was forward facing. My son eats in the car and yeah it's messy but nothing the wipe of a damp cloth can't take care of.
The trunk can handle strollers and gear when travelling to grandparents house. Everything always manages to fit. Practicing with a little Tetris always helps.
I asked myself the same kind of questions when I got the G but it's worked out great. When looking at this issue, always go back and think about how many people are usually ever in your car. I can see it becoming a problem once you have a second child though.

I had an 03 G Coupe for awhile with a 4yr old and a 7month old. if you dont want to do the towel you can buy protectors from wal-mart/babies r us etc. I went with a Recaro carseat for the baby. (Best investment ever) My kid loved it, the head protectors let the kids fall asleep and and their head not fall down. It looks good also, just a bonus!!! Im looking to get a 07 or 08 Sedan so having the coupe i cant imagine having a room issue in the sedan

My G has been perfect with both kids. It's still an occasional transport unit for the kids and has two beautiful Recaro seats in the rear. They fit perfect and the kids (now 8 and 3) love them.
With the seats out, the back seat looks brand new.
I use these under the seats and they've kept my interior looking brand new. (along with the no food or drink rule)![Smilie](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

i went to the CHP office for inspection. and they told me child seat should be installed in a seat that has the LATCH system.
technically, you can put the child seat in the middle, but you would actually be using the LATCH from the L and R seats, cause there's no LATCH in the rear middle seat.
unlike MDX or Odyssey, they do have the LATCH in the middle seat for the child seat.
i kinda understand putting the child seat in "center" of the car, and away from the sides, sounds safer, but in don't know if that actually is ...
