Apparently they tried taking my wheels

I'm so pissed

I was washing my car today and noticed I was missing a lug nut. I was like WTF?!!?!

Upon closer inspection there is some scrapes around where the nut was. Looks like they got spooked off before they could take the wheels.

Lesson learned and just purchased a set of Gorilla Wheel Locks
Amazon Amazon

Should be here by tomorrow.

Who wants my crappy 17" OEM wheels anyway?

Or it could have just gotten loose and the scrapes were already there from previous installs?

Negative, these are new obvious scrapes that were never there. all 4 wheels are (were) pristine last time I washed my car a few days back. Since then my wheels haven't been taken off.

Regardless, it was still a wake up call for me because I had planned to get locks eventually, this just helped me decide to get them sooner.

My Brother in Law is a cop and he said that there is a ring in my area that has been taking wheels off high end cars for months now. still haven't been caught, not sure if this is related.

This has become pretty common in most major cities these day. People are becoming more desperate so this is reflected in increased assaults and robberies.

Everyone should make sure and have their stuff on lock down because there are lots of people waiting to take your sh** when you let your guard down.

Good thing you are getting your locks and glad your wheels didn't get taken.

yea no kidding. what's even more f'd up is that i loaned him my jack to do it. b@stard called me up one day and said he had a flat and needed to borrow my jack. he brought it back to me the next day and told me what he did and that he almost left it there under the car, but he managed to yank it out. now THAT is low.

Although getting your wheels stolen sucks, it'd be a great opportunity to upgrade to sport or aftermarket wheels! Just trying to find the silver lining here, my wife tells me I need to do that more.
