wheel locks

I bought gorilla wheel locks, and I was wondering if I should install these right before I get my tires rebalanced or if rebalancing won't be necessary.

Also, do I need to jack the tirr up before loosening the lug nut or can it just be done on the flat ground?

Thx

Do you mean rebalancing after you install the locking lugs? All it is is a lug nut, no need to rebalance once you change lug nuts. As for installation you are changing out 1 lug nut on each wheel so it's all done on the ground.

Yeah I was curious cause the wheel locks seemed heavier than the lug nut so was wondering if it warrants a rebalanced afterwards .... thanks!

No need for rebalanced, no issues after I installed my Gorilla locks.

Given that it's a fairly heavy wheel/tire combo of large diameter on these cars and the potential imbalance is very close to the axle, there isn't much resulting impact on balance. If this were a Miata with very light wheel/tire combo of smaller diameter, then yes, it could definitely impact the balance. The trouble is, you'd have to do some sort of balance where it's performed with the wheels in place on the car; very rarely done!
