I suspect this is frequently the issue:

i bought my 08 x in Feb 2010, with 30k mi on the odo. the only thing i've spent money on is getting new rear pads and rotors for the rear, (bought aftermarket, and had local shop install and was still $200 cheaper than dealer price for just resurfacing). i did get a new set of tires this past Dec'11, (68kmi) and today, i'm having one of the front wheel bearings replaced ($500 at dealership, 70kmi).

i think OP's main problem is that the dealership is so far away, that it's the time it takes to get things fixed, even under warranty is the hassle. sorry man.

Quote: It's possible these problems could have been a result of the previous owner (lease return) but it was only a 24 month lease return vehicle so it shouldn't have this many issues.
i would never buy a lease returns. personally i would thrash leased cars myself. only reason i baby my cars is because i want it to last; why would i fight the temptations for fun if it wont be my car when i return it?

that being said i bought my 07' g35x used at 40k miles from a used dealer in summer of 2009. i've bought tires and did fluid changes only. only issue is the peeling steering wheel, which infiniti covered under warranty. honda-like reliability for me.

Yup, NEVER purchase a lease return or dealership's loaner vehicle. Lease returns usually gets abused for the last few months of the term (shitty fuel, no regular maintenance), and loaner vehicles probably don't get serviced for well over a year. Well, that's how it was at M-benz dealership at least. Wouldn't doubt for a second its true at any other dealerships.

Quote: ~40k miles for brakes and tires seems like normal wear and tear so you can't really complain there. The wheel bearings really suck though, it seems like I hear that a lot for these cars, I am worried as I notices a hum from the front end of my car last weekend and it has gotten worse (hoping it tires getting low/uneven wear).

With regards to the stems on the tires rusting out, do you have metal caps on the valves. I have heard that depending on the metal the caps are made of, you can get galvanic corrosion on the stems, and that you should use plastic caps with the TPMS.
Sounds like it was bounced of a few curbs. Most is normal weâr.
