Tire helppp

OK I need a solid answer for this problem. I get the runaround and millions of different answers. For a 07 g35 sedan journey 225/55/17 tires if i go with 225/50/17 winter tires in the back will it cause a lot of problems? its a rwd .

235/50/17 will be better, it's only 1.8% difference in diameter from the stock size. The 225/50s will be over 3% difference which can create VDC & ABS problems and your speedo will be off quite a bit.
Here's a good tire calculator.

Even at 1.8% difference, you'll probably notice the VDC is a little bit more sensitive; triggering earlier and more easily. Not any big deal, but probably noticeable. If you want to keep it absolutely as close as possible, you can also consider a set of 245/50-17 which will keep the deviation to about -0.4% (same amount as the difference in factory staggered wheel sets). Of course, obviously you can go with same size tires on all four wheels too, but that's seems excessive.

i'm running 215/55/17 winter tire setup (all-around) on my '07 G35S. seems to be fine.

but now i'm wondering if a different size would be more suitable...

^^ What's 'less than' suitable about what you've already got? You're a tad shorter in diameter (1.6%), but with the same size all around you'll have zero issue with vdc. Are you just wanting to run a wider tire?
