How would you go about selling my car?

So i want to dump my G...bad. But not sure what i should do. I can trade it in and get roughly 15,500 for it. Owe much less than that on it. Or should i sell it privately? You can always get more privately but i am afraid of my vibration problems.

As some of you may not know i am having vib problems that can't be fixed. Wheel and seats ect on highway. Now, the dealer could give two ***** about this issue. But privately i am worried. I know once the sale is over with they can't come back to me. Dealer or private party.

Also..my car only has 7K on the brand new long block. Do you think that would scare people away with a private party sale? Again the dealer doesn't care. I mean whoever gets my car is basically getting a brand new engine. I just changed trans fluid. Diff fluids are changed and just did synthetic oil. My car is loaded with everything.

How much do you realistically think i can get privately vs trading it in.

I would definitely trade it in for the reasons you mentioned.

I trade it in and take the hit. Just get rid of the headaches and put the car behind you.

Trade it but make sure the dealer has inspected it so they have the potential to see the problems it has (if they don't find it, they should've looked harder). But to sell it privately without giving them the chance to find out it has an unfixable problem is morally incorrect.

Trade it in! I really doubt you want another person with your headaches!! At least a dealer have money to spare! Doesnt the Lemon Law applies to your car!? You tried several times to fix this problem and still no solution! Good luck man!

Damn dude, sucks to hear. I would trade it in to the dealer so they can inherit the issues. What are you looking at replacing it with?

you have to think about it though, your taking quite a hit at letting it go for 15.5
IMO i would try to sell it private, mention the vibration and just tell them the truth, it vibrates, but no big deal. you would still get a SIGNIFICANT amount more than 15.5. thats just disgusting, theyre gonna turn around and sell it for way more. If nobody is interested in private (which wont happen) after about half a year or so, trade it in. hell you could even wait a full year it wouldnt make much of a difference, no new models coming anytime soon. play it smart. good luck!

you shouldnt do to others what you wouldnt want done to yourself so i dont think you should sell it pvtly

let the trade in dealer inherit the issues, they like to rip people off anyway lol

Is there a CarMax near where you live? Even if you have to drive 100 miles to the nearest one (like me), I would give them a shot. They usually pay better than regular dealers. Something to consider.

Try giving them a call and asking them what they would give you for your car. So you can have a rough idea. IMO they give a better price then most dealers and if they could give you something like 18 or or so, it would be worth the 140 miles round trip for an extra 2.5 grand.

for an extra 1,000 i would make the drive

my guess is they cut you a check for what the cars worth..-what i owe on it of course

But you need to actually have your car there for them to appraise it...knowing my i would waste a whole day to get it appraised
