Broken projector housing in headlight! wtf

i actually went to replace my bulbs last week and noticed that the entire driver side projector unit broke at the mounting points! the whole thing rattles in the headlight now!! the dust cap pushes the ignitor hard enough into the housing that the housing holds itself but when the dust cap is off, the whole unit is loose. Wondering if the dealer will replace under warranty? I have philips 6000k bulbs in there now.

how does this happen???

Replace the bulb with the OE bulb and take it to your dealer. When I still had warranty, my dealer replaced one headlight for crazing. Your issue is much worse so I can't see why they wouldn't cover it.

This is uncommon and crazy for sure but im 99% sure that once the dealer sees you changed the bulb they will some how try to blame you or the blame for the damage saying the bulb installation was wrong/forced causing it or the higher K caused the holding tabs to melt or something(though this is not possible since they generate same heat as stockers)

best way is to pop in the stock bulbs and then try to get them to check it out like mishmosh said.

^^ I totally "third" that notion. Put the stock bulbs back in or you just bought the fix.

^ i changed mine off without taking the wheel off or jacking up the car, just turn the wheels the other way and pull the liner, its a bit of tight fit but not that bad really and helps you save A LOT of time

ok, just switched back to the OEM bulbs, or what I hope are the OEM bulbs. I have several pairs of D2S bulbs laying around, I dont know which bulbs I put in. Anyone have a pic of the OEM bulb?

btw, the method worked but was extremely tight with bigger wheels/tires and lowered suspension.
