Wow the ride is harsh!

It has been almost 2 months now with my G35X (Journey with Tech and Premium) and I must say...coming from driving the family's Camry, the ride is HARSH but very sporty.

Control is great for fun driving around town and back roads but as a commuter car, it is WAY too harsh. I wonder what the sport package would feel like!

I literally feel every single bump and it is starting to hurt lol...I wouldn't give up the G35X though.

Anyone else wish there was some dynamic ride system where you can choose comfort/normal/sport?

The GT-R has adjustable suspension. But the comfort mode will not be to your liking if you thing the G is harsh.

My coupe 19s with the OEM tires and sport suspension were somewhat stiff but still very easy to drive. You may want to try a softer tire.

Quoting an old NASA idiom:

"Quick, Cheap, or Accurate; choose any two of the three"

I have found this to apply almost universally. Bottom line is, we make choices and accept compromises. Personally, I wouldn't care to compare a V36 to a Camry as they are at significantly different points in that choice spectrum.

Well how can you compare the g to the camery? Of course the camery is going to be smoother. Its a 100% family car. The G is a luxury sport. Its going to be a little rough. But keep driving it and it will grow on you

check your tires

Tires can make a significant difference in how harsh the ride feels.
Go to Tirerack.com, and find your tire. Then look at the spec tab and see what the UTQG rating is. In general the higher the number equals harder and better milege. For example, if your current tires are around 450-500, and you go to a tire between 250 and 300, you will get a softer ride. Better traction and less mileage come with that decision. Also, make sure your tires are not over inflated, as that will make them ride harsher.

chk your tire psi other than that camry is one of the softest/"bounciest" cars iv ever ridden in so going from camry to G I would expect for you to feel a big difference.

If you think the g is rough drive the 335i and you'll appreciate the g more.
Tires will make a load of a difference.

I have the Sports Edition and after shuttling my grandmother around town, she complained her poly grip didn't do the job...

I've got OEM sport suspension and I really don't find the ride harsh. It is firm for sure, and you definitely feel the bumps, but by no means harsh.

If you have the Goodyear Eagle RS-A's or other super high performance tire on, my opinion is it's the tires. I have an '08 G35X, drove the OEM Eagle's for 30k - definitely harsh over anything but perfectly paved roads. Treads wore out at 30k and switched to Michelin Primacy MXM4's and it's a whole different car. The ride quality is way better, much smoother. I don't know where you are with tire tread, but you can get a set for $646 after rebate from Tire Rack. The change would definitely solve your issue. When I posted asking about replacements one or two on here preferred the MXV4 - frankly they seem very similar and when I bought the M4's were $80 cheaper for the set.

I agree, but the MXM4's IMO is better than the MXV4's. Michelin's site touts it as a sportier tire, and the addition of the rim protectors is a HUGE plus, especially since I live in the city and do a lot of parallel parking...

Currently, I have the Goodyear Eagle GT tires, mainly because of the high performance rating and sportier tire as well as the rim protectors and a cheap price ($120 per tire.) They have 50k mile warranty.

And I agree with snowtrax. I also have a Lexus ES350 with the MXM4's and a Lexus LS430 with the MXV4's and the ride quality is much less "harsh and sporty" and you drive like floating on a cloud. The cars are soulless though...the Infiniti G is really sporty and very aggressive- very similar to the BMW 3 Series, which I also test drove.
