This topic has come up a number of times... You would be nuts to not like the new 7at mainly because it shifts a lot smoother, and much better mpg. Interior wise nothing has really upgraded in quality, and as far as performance the g37 is quicker in the higher rpm's (100+) mainly because of the extra gears and the quicker shifting but who really needs to go that fast anyway. I'm right there with you about the sport bumper being the nuts! I also like the fact that even without a navi package some of the g37's do come with the rear view cam. I'm sure majority of us have test driven either a loaner or a brand new 37 and with that said a lot of these cars have not been properly broken into yet either so that's why it may less aggressive etc.
Almost all of the mentioned things here though are all opinions!

I think they've finally got that new 7at working better than when it was first introduced. The 2011 G37x I had as a loaner shifted very smooth and intuitively, no hunting for gears in my experience.
I don't see what people like about the "new" center console, it's practically the exact same aside from the curve where the ashtray used to be and the seat heat dials vs. switches. I also like my gauges way better, I thought the new ones where too white and boring, and not as easy on the eyes at night. I did really grow to like the backup camera on the non-navi though.
Marginal performance improvement and not worth the price difference IMO.

So I have a G37 rental while my car is in the shop getting the 60,000 mile service
I like my car better.
Is the G37 faster? maybe a little
Is the interior nicer? I do dig the new center council
What do I not like about the G37 then?
I dont like the green idiot lights that tell me my lights are on.
They make the car look cheap.
I dont like the new headlights when the lights are on- I dont like the orange lights where my fogs are.
In fact I just dont like the non sport front bumper at all.
I also dont like the new guages as much either. I like the violet ring in my speedo/ tach
Just reminded me again why I put some more money into my G35 and not into a down payment on a G37....
Am I crazy?

I got a loaner G37x sedan also awhile ago when my car was in for warranty repair... my impressions were why on earth did Infiniti make the HID's the standard daytime running lights? That would shorten the lifespan of the bulbs. I also noticed that the G37's pedal is a bit sedated. My G was before the throttle sensitivity recall and honestly felt quicker. I really like the backup camera and improvements they've done to the interior though, and the leather used for the steering wheel.

for 07-09 sedans, Infiniti uses these as DRL, not overly bright but adequate.:

and for 10+ sedan they use the HID:

I agree, it's a bit annoying. IMO, Infiniti could/should have used the fogs.

compare g37 to my g35, i like the new black color instrument between 2 gauges, i like the new central console, much better material, and screen resolution is better. and thats about it.
i just wish i can get a gearbox with same responsiveness of my 5spd, and same gear ration in the 7spd for better highway fuel economy. the gear ratio for g35 isnt really suited for highway driving, looks like it is focus for track driving, however, g35 isnt a track focused car. pity.
