School me on replacing suspension

At 55K the G doesn't ride as smooth as it once did. It also isn't handling as well as it used to....moves around a little during a spirited drive.

Have it at the stealer for something else today, and inquired about it. There are no leaks, so it the suspension cannot be replaced. Asked about recommended replacement, and Infiniti doesn't specify an interval like 60K, etc.

Looked at Autozone, Oreilly's, and Advance - limited options. Oreilly's carries KYB and that is it - and I hear KYB is worse than stock.

I liked the original ride, but would be up to a slight upgrade. I drive the car 5K a month so it sees a ton of seat time and quite a bit of it is highway. Don't want a really uncomfortable ride since they are long drives.

Options?

I looked at possibly alternatives to KYB, mainly Koni or Bilstein, but they didn't have what I was looking for really. I think that if you are looking for the most stock ride possible it would be best to just replace them with factory dampers.

Addressing the handling though is something a bit different. Have you thought about different tires? Your handling will be drastically affected by your tire choice.

I wish there was something other then KYB as well. Stock dampers are expensive! I can't make my mind up on how much I want to spend on suspension.

look in the classifieds for a used set, you can pick up a full set with low miles for around $100 from someone who's installing coilovers

I'm in the same boat with about 50K miles. My tires need replacement though and I feel some bushings will need replacement and regreasing as well. We'll see how that affects the ride.

Tokico Blues should be a decent replacement.
