Looking for suspension experts - rear feels loose.

Hopefully someone will know what is most likely causing a loose feeling rear suspension.

The car does now have 250,000 miles (2003 G35 sedan) and other than the springs and shocks nothing in the rear has been replaced yet. The last time I did the shocks and springs I thought they were causing the loose feeling in the rear, but it wasn't it. Still feels the same with new parts.

I am in the process of overhauling the old G a little but don't want just start replacing parts and/or bushings.

What part or bushing is most likely responsible for causing the loose feeling etc?

thanks for any specific suggestions. However, please do not guess if you don't know for sure.
thanks
Tom

What do you mean by "loose"? Like excessive body roll? Or bounciness? In what situations does it feel this way? Turns at any speed? High speed turns? All the time? How is the car modified if at all?

The car is not modified at all. It does not feel bouncy at all .

Hard to explain, but I think it feels loose when taking turns ,etc.

Feels likes something is worn out, but I just can't point my finger at it, but it is not the shocks or springs as they were replaced twice and it did not improve anything.

Spend some $ on your ride! imo. shocks are affordable. How often do you change the oil or all the fluids? You have a decent amount of mileage so you are doing some things correctly, I suppose. Don't be a "cheap ****" and rebuild the suspension.

I would start with those sway bar links too, and check the wheel bearings in the rear. Report back if that doesn't fix it... Had the same issue myself before I hydro-locked. I won't know if the links fixed it until I get her back on the road.

I did replace one side about a year ago because it completely broke off. I bought two but did not replace the other side as it looks good.

I still have the spare one, might just do it this weekend.

Always replace things in pairs, because the other is soon to follow with a failure.

It's 99% odds that it's worn out bushings. There are bushings at the ends of the suspension arms and sway bar. At 250,000 miles, pretty much all of them are probably rubble right now. I'd do them all, and your car will feel a lot more precise in all four corners once you do. I've got my other car in the shop right now for precisely this problem. It felt sloppy and turns out all bushings are toast.

Marcinr,

Dzieki za info.

Also, do I need to replace the three bushings on the axle assembly?

or just the sway bar and suspension arms (front lower link, radius rod) How about the upper suspension arm which also has a ball joint. ?

Also, the rear lower link where the spring is has bushing too.
