Also, if I were to only buy mufflers instead of shelling out for a full catback, how would that effect my performance and sound?

Angry Rear bumper troubles

Hey guys I have an 07 G35S sedan. The previous owner backed into a pole and now the bumper pops out by the tail light. Something is stopping the bumper from letting me just pop it back in. I have taken it to be looked at by an infiniti dealer and a regular body shop and both told me I would need a new bumper. Both totals with parts and labor came out to be about $1200. Any suggestions on how I can repair this mysel with out dropping $1200 on it?

I have never removed one from these cars, but I have on similar cars. If it were mine, I'd consider taking it apart and verifying whether the tabs and any clips were broken. If tabs on the bumper are broken, then it will be unlikely you'll ever get it factory tight again without repair or replacement. If it's just some damaged clips, you might be able to replace them and get it to snug up tight again. Of course this is all best case scenario, and without having ever seen your bumper.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry you can't see the bumper! I tried to upload a couple pictures but every time I tried it said the upload failed. Im assuming the file was too big. I'll see what else I can do to get some pictures up.

help me b/c you're smarter

Hi all,

I found a set of Avant Garde 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 9.5 wheels for sale that I really like. But I have a few questions about them before I make the purchase.

First of all, are they compatible? They are 5 x 114.3 so I assume they are. I only have doubts because when I enter my car on the ebay compatibility calculator it says they are not. (not sure how reliable that is) Also the listing says they are for 03-11 coupes. HOWEVER, the picture on the listing shows the wheels on a g37 sedan. (listing picture attached below) So, if I buy them, would I have to do anything special to make them fit?

Also, if I buy them, I want a drop that is as similar if not exactly as the one in the picture. Any idea what might be being used?

Sorry for all the noob questions! I just love my car too much to ruin it by pretending I know everything.

Thanks for the help

If the offsets are +35 front and +40 rear, they will fit. Avant Garde also makes a +20 front and +20 rear in 5x114.3 that will be too aggressive without a drop and camber fit.

Keep in mind the pictures show a 19x9.5 on front and rear, not staggered. The fronts will be less concave than the rear in the staggered setup. The drop looks like a typical eibach drop to me, but coilovers will give you complete control over the drop amount.

Thanks for the heads up. They are in fact +20 front and +20 rear. I was planning on eibach prokit drop anyway. Still too aggressive with eibach drop but no camber fit?

It's quite simple.
If the wheels on the car in the pictures are the exact wheels you're buying then they will fit exactly the same on your 07 G sedan. The G35/37 sedan wheel fitment has been the same from 07 through to today.
Also, the G in the pic has a drop about equal to Eibach pro kit.
Your 07 doesn't come with the G37S Akebono BBK so thats one less thing to worry about.

I think apexi957 runs a 20x10 +25 or so which will be almost identical to the rears you're looking at. Check out some of his posts to see if you like that look or not. I'm no expert on fitting more aggressive offsets, but check out the aftermarket wheels thread to get better info.

Eibach pro kit or sportline?

Hey guys. I just purchased 19" Avant Garde M550 wheels just like the ones in this picture. However, I was wondering if you guys had an opinion on whether or not the drop in the picture is eibach? And if so, pro kit or sportline? Thanks for the help!
