steering response
steering response
Steering response of my G has been really weird lately, during the summer month its usually all firm feed back, occasionally really light steering. But I noticed after it got colder when I first start the car and given it 2-3 minutes to warm up the steering response is really light, but it doesn't really firm up either, it does sometimes it doesn't other times. And when I'm driving the steering feel sometimes changes as well. It gets to a point where it feels like my crv/sentra which both has really light steering. Does anyone else have this? is this normal or is it hinting that I should get a steering fluid changed?
50,000 miles. I have no clue when the last swap was because I bought this car at 45,000 miles and the previous owner was from a different province so my local dealer doesn't have a record on it. The steering fluid level is fine, but I think the fluid is bad, what colour should the fluid be? And yea tire pressure is good I always fill it to the exact PSI.
definitely the 1st place to look. When temps drop, the air pressure does as well so your tires are probably a little low on air. the 3-4 Lbs per sq in less will affect steering response..
Does the steering usually tighten after a long drive and not short ones? Driving on them creates heat and the pressure will go up after a good distance.

Does the steering usualy tighten after a long drive and not short ones? Driving on them creates heat and the pressure will go up after a good distance.

Can I get the fluid at a nissan dealer? or do I have to go to a infiniti dealer? cause there's only 1 infiniti dealer in my city and its pretty far away
Extreme heat or cold affects the fluid since it expands or contracts a lot... either way u have enough miles to justify it.
Nissan IS infiniti so its fine. Even at an infiniti dealership the steering fluid is cheap... so I bet Nissan would be even cheaper.
Or u can just use a good transmission fluid. I went with Nissan OEM steering fluid cause it was cheap and simple.
