Snow button /AWD?

Ok so it snowed the other day and I switched "snow" mode on and took off the Vdc , my concern is that the AWD light did not come on. How and when does my 2008 g35x kick into AWD?

Hello, and welcome to G35Driver.

All the details on the operation of your car's AWD system are in the Owners Manual. If you didn't get one with your car, you can download it here http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...s.php?catid=56 for free after registering.

Hi, Welcome to the forum!

There is no need to turn of the VDC under any normal daily driving scenario. It could save your (or someone else's) life.

there's no such thing as turning on AWD, its always on (If you do see AWD light on your dash it means there's something wrong with it I think if you have over heated transmission fluid), most power goes to rear when it detects slip it'll automatically send up to 50% of the power to front. Snow mode makes the split of power 50/50 all the time. I turn off VDC when I'm drifting or dragging, if you want to drift randomly into on coming traffic or a pole then turn VDC off when there's snow.

for snowmode the 50/50 is only until 15mph or so

On the 2nd gen G's Snow Mode only controls engine output to avoid wheel spin.. It's written in the OM, section 2

I got my G35x in January in it was effortless in the snow for me. I am on All-Seasons and the street to go home is all up hill that never gets blowed. I get up the hill easily with snow mode on.

Without snow mode, I get a little bit of wheel spin. Without VDC, I get a lot of wheel spin and movement from side to side.
