ouch, this is sad to see man, Hope everything plays out to your advantage...I would probably want them to total it,and not fix it. Because fixing is just temporary

Wow .. High KBB on my car is about $21K. Front end wise, it looks like the intercooler and pipes going to and from. Trans cooler is up there too, but I can't get the hood open to check it out. No fluid leaking, but if the body shop has to sub the mechanicals to GTM for repair .. I'm pretty sure the car is toast.

So I guess my next decision is whether or not to buy the car back and part it out. The big ticket items would be the HR-TT engine and upgraded transmission.

But at my wrkplace...we repaired a G sedan like yours...where it was rear ended Square! Both Qtr Panels had to be cut and changed...Trunk, ....along with the Rear Frame rail sections and floor! It was like 23K in damage..and was an 08 Journey! But I guess depends on how many Miles u have...And if the Front is badly damaged? Looks like jus the Bumper Cover, Reinforcement,,Intercooler...? Damn this sucks! If Was my car...I would want it fixed...u put too much wrk to have it tottaled! ....But it mite be...Hope the best of something comes out of this! Damn driver don't pay attention! Happens way too often!

Of all the second gen G sedans on the road of course they had to hit the rare turbo one with bbk...

Very sorry to hear of the accident and glad you're ok. I remember when you first started modding this car - it was always done tastefully. I hope you the best!

WOW..I just checked my KBB Value too....My car has on 23,300mi...and the high LBB is 23,5K..Damn beggining of 2012 I checked last time it was worth 27K...Damn dunno about it being saved then! Most likely that rear frame rail will half to be changed, along with floor and rear body! ...Hate to see your G go out this way,,,But yea U gotta save the HR-TT motor! it's a beast!

Or somehow buy all the parts through someone that wrks at Infiniti....at a discounted price...buy car back....Takr to body shop to restore.....man hard decisions! UGHHHH...

Sorry to see this, Terry. You were one of the pioneers for modding the G35. Glad all people involved are relatively ok, however.

Looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Quick update … My appraiser stopped by and looked over my car yesterday. Without being super thorough, the amount of damage so far will total the car. Knowing this, I was going to file the claim with HER insurance company, but found out she may not have sufficient coverage to cover my damages AND the car that was in front of me.

I’m now working with my insurance company to total my car so I don’t get short changed by her insurance company. My appraiser will come back and do a comprehensive appraisal.

So now it comes down to a) how much my insurance company will offer for the aftermarket parts and whether or not I want to accept the offer, b) whether or not I can take parts off the car and c) how much I can buy the salvage car back for to part out.
