Nope. All interstate driving from Lexington Ky to Myrtle Beach Sc. Speed ranged between 70-85.

Guys . . . AGAIN, it is very vague to refer to gas mileage by the 'tankful', as there is no consistency between when different drivers will refill their tanks. Anything short of actual miles divided by actual gallons has so much potential error that it's almost meaningless.

I traditionally get 1-2 miles/gallon less during the winter than the summer. I average around 19 or 20 miles/gallon in the summer and only 17-18 miles/gallon in the winter. Results would vary depending on where you are in the county and what type of summer and winter blends you have and your climate.

I completely agree with you. I get about the same mileage as you city driving. I don't usually rev my engine to the limit, but I like to push about 5,000RPMs until im about five miles over the speed limit then I shift into fifth or sixth gear and cruise. You're absolutely right, this car is too much fun to drive like a grandma. I just love how this thing accelerates. I figure the money I spend on gas is what I consider "modification" money

When I'm in the city, I can't drive slowly. I always accelerate quickly because I love to abuse my car's engine. On the highway (which my car has done 85%+ of 172k) though, I tend to drive a bit more normal and civilized, unless I have to pass someone or am in a hurry...

The first and free thing you can do is a manual ECU reset with the gas pedal. You can also run a bottle of Redline Fuel System Cleaner on your next refueling and run that tank nearly empty. I did these when I was experiencing an engine tick and not only did the tick go away, but the engine felt a tiny bit smoother, more responsive and got about 0.5-1mpg better on average. I have an '05 and never did the manual ECU reset until a few months ago and I was quite pleased.

I thought fuel injector cleaner was not good for our cars, or does doing it once ever 15-30k not really hurt anything and they just don't want you putting it in every oil change? Remember seeing in the manual not to use the stuff.

I've used it in almost all of the family cars (Nissan, Lexus, Subaru) and my racecar throughout the years with no ill effects. It could be just snakeoil as there's no way to tell unless the fuel injectors and engine internals were opened before and after. Redline has made a buck from me lol.

I've used the Techron stuff once after some searching and found it to negatively impact my fuel mileage. I can't rule out other factors at the time such as the wrong gear and differential oil done at the time I used it. I try to use Redline Fuel system cleaner at every oil change or 7,000mi if I remember, but I'm sure I've gone an entire year without using it once.

If I see my mpg dip 1mpg worse over a few tanks I'll look to reset my ecu and run some fuel treatment.

Been averaging 18-21 MPG the past year and a half.

I can get average MPG to go up to 24-25 if I am cruising down the interstate (3 hour drive) with the Intelligent Cruise Control set to 70-80 MPH.

City driving gets me very low MPG always.

I actually fill the tank up and at next fill up divide the miles driven by the amount of gallons put back in. That's the only way to get true MPGs. I do 85% hwy driving at 80mph and worst in last 6 tanks was 17.3 and best 19.1. I do have somewhat of a heavy foot when accelerating. Hopefully I can hit 20 with the summer blend. I run techron every 5000 miles with no ill effects. Also I run 93 octane.

i think our car got a stupid gearbox, it lacks a proper overdrive gear for highway cruise. i bet we can see a 2-3 mpg improve if we can have the 7spd in G37.
